STPF Eligibility Criteria

STPF is open to U.S. citizens who hold doctoral level degrees in any of the following fields:

Biological, Agricultural or Life sciences.
Physical or Earth sciences.
Social and Behavioral sciences.
Computational and Information sciences.
Mathematics and Statistics.
Medical and Health Sciences.
Engineering disciplines (applicants with an M.S. in engineering and three years of professional engineering experience also qualify).

Dominiqua Griffin, 2021-22 AERA Congressional Science & Engineering Fellow, 2022-23 Executive Branch Fellow, National Institutes of Health, Office of Cancer and Epidemiology Research

Dr. Griffin is a AAAS S&T Policy Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Cancer Institute in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics. She previously worked on the health and education legislation portfolio as the 2021-22 AERA Congressional Science & Engineering Fellow in the Office of Senator Chris Coons. Prior to her time has a fellowship, she was a tenure-track Assistant Professor of School Counseling at California State University, Fresno. In 2017 she co-created BlackWomenPhDs®, a small business that highlights the achievements of Black Women scholars and provides resources for current and future doctors. Dominiqua obtained her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from The Pennsylvania State University.

Dava Keavney, 2018-20 Executive Branch Fellow, U.S. Department of State, Office of Policy Analysis and Public Diplomacy

Dr. Keavney was a 2018-20 AAAS S&T Policy Fellow with the Bureau of Energy Resources of the U.S. Department of State. In this role she supported international efforts to promote diversified supply chains for clean energy minerals and robust standards for greenhouse gas emissions measurement and accounting. Following her fellowship, she joined the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) for one year as a contractor, providing technical and strategic planning support for the AMO leadership team and helping to promote decarbonization, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas emissions reductions in industry. She is currently at the at the DOE working as a Program Manager, managing X-ray Light Sources and Neutron Scattering Facilities in the Scientific User Facilities Division of BES. Dr. Keavney earned her Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics from the Johns Hopkins University.
